IND vs AFG T20I Series: Now Vaibhav Suryavanshi will come to create rebellion in Delhi! Schedule of T20I series against Afghanistan released

A big news has come for Indian cricket fans. A three-match T20 series is going to be played between India and Afghanistan in September 2026. The interesting thing is that all the matches of this entire series will be held at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the capital Delhi.

Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has confirmed these dates and venues in a letter sent to its commercial partners. However, an official public announcement is yet to be made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and ACB.

The series will be held in India only, but Afghanistan will be the host.

The most special thing about this series is that for the first time in history, Afghanistan Cricket Board is going to host its domestic bilateral series against India in India itself. Due to security and other reasons, Afghanistan has often played its home matches at neutral venues, and this time Delhi has been chosen for it.

ACB CEO Naseeb Khan has clarified in his letter that an agreement has been reached with BCCI regarding the dates and grounds.

Complete schedule and venue of T20 series

All three matches of the series will be played at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi:

  • First T20 match: 13 September 2026
  • Second T20 match: 15 September 2026
  • Third T20 match: 17 September 2026

Eyes will be fixed on 15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi

In this series, the maximum attention of the fans will be on 15 year old young sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Recently, during the Zimbabwe tour, Vaibhav created a stir with his aggressive batting. He was the highest run-scorer in that series with two half-centuries and was also named 'Player of the Series'.

If Vaibhav is selected in the team against Afghanistan, then this will be the first time when he will be seen playing in the home ground wearing the jersey of the Indian team.

Preparations for broadcasting and live streaming started

Afghanistan Cricket Board has instructed its media partners to start preparations for broadcasting, promotion and production.

  • Digital Rights (OTT Streaming): FanCode has the rights for digital telecast of this series.
  • TV Broadcast: Currently, talks are going on with the respective broadcasters regarding TV broadcast rights.

Will India's Bangladesh tour be cancelled?

After the dates of the series against Afghanistan were revealed, clouds of uncertainty are looming over India's proposed tour of Bangladesh.

According to the proposed schedule, India was to reach Bangladesh on August 28, where 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches were to be played. The last T20 match of Bangladesh tour was proposed on 13 September and the first T20 match against Afghanistan has been fixed for 13 September in Delhi.

It is not possible to play matches in two different countries on the same day. In such a situation, it is believed that the schedule of Bangladesh tour will be changed or it can be postponed further.
