Uttarakhand News: The Uttarakhand government is continuously taking major decisions to strengthen the infrastructure of the state and provide relief in disaster affected areas. In this series, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved a huge amount of Rs 74 crore for the development of basic facilities in various parts of the state and to compensate for the loss caused by the disaster. With this decision, there will be a major improvement in infrastructure facilities from remote rural areas to urban areas of the state. The main focus of the government is on the restoration of government properties damaged by the disaster and providing safety to the public.
Special emphasis on education and disaster management
Due to the disaster, buildings and premises of many schools in the state were heavily damaged, due to which the education of children was being affected. Keeping this in mind, the Chief Minister has approved an amount of Rs 15 crore each, i.e. a total of Rs 30 crore for the schools run under secondary education and elementary education. This budget will be used for immediate repair of damaged infrastructure through the State Disaster Response Fund, so that a safe environment can be created for students and staff and teaching work can continue without any interruption.
Flood protection and construction work in various districts
Many important schemes have been approved for disaster prevention and increasing connectivity in different districts of the state. Rs 8.91 crore has been given to build a new helipad at Beda-Majhra in Bageshwar. To promote religious tourism and maintain cleanliness, Rs 4.99 crore has been sanctioned for the work of sewer line and toilets in Gangotri Dham. A scheme of Rs 4.01 crore has been approved for flood protection in Khatima area of Udham Singh Nagar and Rs 4.62 crore for the protection of villages and camps of security forces located on the India-Nepal border.
Special provisions for relief equipment and techniques
Funds have also been allocated to provide immediate help during disasters and to maintain the early warning system. Rs 2 crore has been sanctioned for the maintenance of earthquake early warning system and Rs 1.90 crore for recharge of satellite phones. Along with this, special budget has been given for honorarium of experts posted in Joshimath landslide control room, organization of various mock exercises and maintenance of modern equipment. Rs 3.18 crore has also been sanctioned for the payment of dues of JCB machines used to open the roads during the disaster in Chamoli district.

Martyr Mandeep Singh Negi received honor
Along with the development works, the Dhami government has also done the work of honoring the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country. Approval has been given to change the name of Chalkudia-Masmoli-Naukholi motor road under Chaubattakhal assembly constituency to Shaheed Mandeep Singh Negi Motor Road. There is a wave of happiness among the people of the area due to this step of the government and this step is a true tribute of the state to the brave martyrs.
Through this entire scheme, the Dhami government aims to make every district of the state safe from disaster and further strengthen the infrastructure. The approval of Rs 3.27 crore for the solid waste management project in Municipal Council Herbertpur will also give a new direction to the cleanliness campaign in urban areas.
