IND vs SR: The last day of the Galle Test was in the name of the Indian team and especially Manav Suthar. This left-arm spinner reduced Sri Lanka's innings to 206 runs by taking six wickets in the second innings. On the basis of Suthar's brilliant performance, India won the first Test by 165 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. Suthar took a total of 10 wickets in the entire match. This bowler, playing only the second Test of his career, took four wickets in the first innings while in the second innings he sent six batsmen to the pavilion for 55 runs. His spell dashed Sri Lanka's hopes of chasing the target.

Harbhajan and Ashwin left behind
With this performance of 10 wickets, Manav Suthar made a special record in his name among Indian bowlers on Sri Lankan soil. He recorded the best match performance by an Indian bowler in Sri Lanka, leaving behind stalwarts like Harbhajan Singh and Ravichandran Ashwin. With this, Suthar has become the third Indian bowler to take 10 wickets in a Test match in Sri Lanka. Earlier this achievement was in the names of Harbhajan Singh and Ravichandran Ashwin.
Sri Lanka collapsed in front of the target of 372 runs
India had scored 462 runs in the first innings. In reply, Sri Lanka was all out for 284 runs and India got a lead of 178 runs. The Indian team scored 193 runs in the second innings and set a target of 372 runs for the host team.

The entire team was all out for 206 runs in front of the Indian bowlers. Sonal Dinusha struggled the most by scoring 84 runs, while captain Dhananjay de Silva played an inning of 59 runs. The rest of the batsmen failed to build big partnerships.
Apart from Suthar, Prasidh Krishna took two wickets for India. Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammad Siraj got one success each.
Made India's 600th Test memorable
This victory in Galle was also special for India because it was the team's 600th Test match. This victory brought relief to the Indian team after the defeat in the home series against New Zealand and South Africa in spin-friendly conditions. As soon as Suthar completed his sixth and 10th wicket of the match in the second innings, India had won. Interestingly, within minutes of the end of the match, it started raining heavily in Galle.
This match was special for Manav Suthar for another reason. For the second time in his Test career, he has taken five or more wickets in an innings. Earlier, he had achieved this feat against Afghanistan in his Test debut. Now by taking 10 wickets against Sri Lanka, he has registered a big record in his short Test career.
