- Dominance of Indian drone technology in the sky of Pokhran: Indian Air Force will organize 'Dronethon-2026' from September 14
Jaisalmer/New Delhi, September 12, 2026: With the aim of giving more impetus to the 'Self-reliant India' campaign in the defense sector in the country. Indian Air Force (IAF) is organizing a grand three-day 'Dronathon-2026' at the Pokhran Field Firing Range in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
This event will be held from 14 to 16 September 2026. The main objective of this program is to provide a common platform to the country's industrialists, start-ups and innovators in the defense sector. During this three-day event, demonstration and live operational testing of Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) and Counter-Drone Technology (CUAS) will be done.

According to the Defense Ministry, this event will include both static display and live demonstration. During this period, special focus will be placed on advanced technologies like surveillance, swarm technology (operation of multiple drones simultaneously), autonomous operations and electronic warfare.
Through this demonstration, the Indian Air Force will evaluate the battlefield capability and technical strength of the indigenous manufacturers, so that the Indian Army can be made more equipped and self-reliant for future security needs.
