He was admitted to the hospital but could not be saved. Damanpreet Kaur died in three days, a young woman of twenty-three years! After the autopsy, he was caught and strangled to death. 22-year-old Ritish Kumar, Damanpreet’s live-in partner, was quickly arrested.
It is known that Damanpreet’s house is in Samrala. He went to Canada on a student visa. On July 9, the young woman was found with suspicious injuries in a house in the Silverberry area of Edmonton. Later, when he died, Ritish was arrested. A case of second degree murder has been brought against him. After preliminary investigation, the police said, it is believed that no one else is involved in this murder except Ritish. However, the exact cause of this murder is not yet known, the investigators claim.
Damanpreet’s family members told an all-India media that the young woman went to study in Canada five years ago. A campaign has been launched to bring his body back to India. More than $18,000 was raised.
