Indian High Commissioner hosts Team India before second Test in Colombo

In a separate post on X, High Commissioner Jha expressed his pleasure in hosting both teams, emphasizing the role cricket plays in strengthening the longstanding relationship between the two nations. He said, “Cheering for #TeamIndia. Happy to host the Indian and Sri Lankan Men’s Cricket Teams during the ongoing ICC World Test Championship matches in Sri Lanka. Bound by a shared passion for the sport, cricket continues to strengthen the enduring ties between India and Sri Lanka.”

Team India enters the second Test with a 1-0 lead in the series and aims to secure a 2-0 victory. The side, led by Shubman Gill, claimed an impressive win in the first Test held at Galle.

In the opening match, India defeated Sri Lanka by 165 runs, with significant contributions from Manav Suthar, who achieved his maiden 10-wicket haul, and Devdutt Padikkal, who scored 167 runs in the first innings.

The second and final Test between India and Sri Lanka will commence on August 23 at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo.
