New Delhi. An Indian woman traveling in business class of Emirates Airline has shared her experience on social media and raised the question whether she was discriminated against. The woman claims that she was ignored on three separate occasions during the journey, while the staff continued to give priority to the male passenger accompanying her. After his post surfaced, a debate broke out on social media about this experience.
This case Indian startup founder Rachna Ramchand Is connected to. According to Rachna, this was her first journey in Emirates business class and she was very excited about this journey. However, his experience turned disappointing after a few incidents.
In the first incident the male passenger was asked, not the female passenger.
Rachna told that she was talking with a male passenger in a rest area of the airport. Then an Emirates employee arrived and asked the male passenger if he would like to have lunch.
According to Rachna, the employee did not ask her anything about food. He himself had to call the employee and tell him that he also wanted food. Only after this his order was taken. He says that this incident made him feel uncomfortable.
Felt ignored for the second time regarding water too
Rachna alleges that after some time another similar incident also happened. The employee brought water for the male passenger and asked him if he wanted water again. But no such offer was made from Rachna.
After experiencing different behavior in two consecutive incidents, Rachna started wondering whether she was being deliberately ignored.
Asked to slow down the voice in the third incident
According to Rachna, after this the third incident further increased his problems. The male passenger she was talking to had trouble hearing. That's why both of them were talking in a slightly louder voice than normal.
Meanwhile, an employee asked both of them to keep their voice low. Rachna says that he was not deliberately talking loudly, but because the passenger in front was having trouble hearing, he had to speak a little louder.
'I felt like I didn't deserve to be here'
By linking these three incidents, Rachna expressed her displeasure on social media. She told that she runs her own business and she herself paid for the seat upgrade in business class.
Despite this, he felt as if he did not deserve to be part of the business class. He even said that he finds it more comfortable to travel in general class.
After Rachna's post, the matter became rapidly discussed on social media.
Opinion divided on social media
Social media users also had varying reactions to Rachna's experience. Some people took his allegation seriously, saying that no passenger should feel ignored like this.
At the same time, some users also said that it would not be appropriate to directly link every incident to discrimination. According to him, mistake or misunderstanding by the employee could also be the reason behind this. Especially in the third incident, it was reported that the male passenger had trouble hearing.
It has come to light that Emirates Airline has responded to Rachna's post. However, only after the airline's detailed version of the entire matter comes to light, it will be clear what was the actual reason behind these incidents. Currently, Rachna's experience remains a topic of debate on social media.
