Indian boxer Sachin Siwach created history by winning the gold medal in the final match of the men’s 60 kg weight category. Shittu won the first round 5-0 with a brilliant performance. However, the second round was very tight and exciting. Ankush made a brilliant comeback in the second round. The referee deducted one point from Shittu for a foul, which gave Ankush the opportunity to return to the match and win the round by split verdict. Then, in the third round, Ankush attacked again. England’s D. Shittu was deducted another point for a foul. But Ankush did not let this opportunity slip away. He showed excellent footwork, landed powerful combination punches and won the third round 4-1 to win the final match and bring India its 7th gold medal in boxing.

Narendra Berwal played the final match of the boxing tournament. Narendra faced England’s Damar Thomas in the men’s 80 kg weight category. Thomas dominated the men’s 80 kg weight category from the first round. However, Narendra could not find his rhythm from the first round itself, due to which he lost 5-0 in the final match. As a result, Narendra had to settle for a silver medal. India won a total of 10 medals in boxing, including 7 gold and 7 silver medals.
