The FIH Youth Hockey 5s Asian Championship final between India and Pakistan was played on July 25 in Muscat. Indian sub-junior men’s team beat arch-rivals Pakistan 3-1 to clinch the title. India scored three goals till the 13th minute of the match, after which Pakistan team could not make a comeback in the match. Romit Pal, captain Ketan Kushwaha and Shahrukh Ali played a vital role in India’s victory. With this win, the Indian men’s team has climbed to the top of the elite pool points table.

Pakistan lost in the final match

The Indian sub-junior men’s hockey team defeated Pakistan by a margin of 7-3 in the previous match. In the title match, India took the early lead thanks to accurate passing and disciplined tactics. India’s first goal came in the 5th minute of the first half, followed by captain Ketan Kushwaha in the 12th minute and Shah Rukh Ali in the 13th minute to give India a 3โ€“0 lead. Mohammad Usman scored for Pakistan in the 16th minute, but it was the first and last goal. After that they could not score. Having reached the finals of the FIH Youth Hockey 5S Asian Championship, both India and Pakistan have also booked their place in the FIH Youth Hockey 5S World Cup.

Hockey India announced the cash prize

After defeating Pakistan in the final, Hockey India has announced cash prizes for Indian youth players, with Rs 2 lakh for each player and Rs 1 lakh for each member of the support staff. In the women’s event of the FIH Youth Hockey 5S Asian Championship, the Indian sub-junior team won the silver medal after losing the final match against China 2-4 on aggregate. Hockey India has also announced cash prizes for the Indian women’s team, with Rs 1 lakh for each player and Rs 50,000 for each member of the support staff.
