Daya Shankar Tripathi’s report

Bureau Prayagraj. Minister of State for Defense Sanjay Seth has said that “India’s military power has been developed in the factories of our defense industries.” He attributed the success of Operation Sindoor to the unparalleled courage and determination of the defense forces. Which was further strengthened by indigenously developed impressive state-of-the-art weapons and systems.

While addressing the North Tech Symposium organized in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh on May 5, 2026, he described Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as the backbone of the Indian economy and startups as the brand ambassadors of the country. He said, “Our startups and MSMEs are the driving force of future growth and will play an important role in realizing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s dream of building a developed India by 2047. They are the Vishwakarmas of our era.”

The Minister of State for Defense lauded the Defense Forces for foiling the devious plans of India’s enemies by destroying terrorist hideouts during Operation Sindoor. He said that the effective use of Indian made equipment is a testament to the determination of the Government, Defense PSUs and the private sector, especially innovators, startups and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises across the country, to achieve self-reliance in the defense sector.

The Minister of State for Defense emphasized that the record defense production and defense related export figures are a testament to the rise of a new India that believes in strengthening its capabilities to safeguard national interests. He also said that “This new India does not cast an evil eye on anyone nor turns a blind eye to anyone attempting to threaten its sovereignty.”

Minister of State for Defense Seth emphasized that the technology being used today may become useless tomorrow and in this regard, he urged the industry to remain at the forefront of technological progress by thinking outside the box amid global uncertainties.

Speaking on the occasion, Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Central Command, urged the industry to work closely with the Defense Forces to meet the current operational requirements in emerging areas and contribute to making the Indian Army a future-ready force.
