Report: Baccin could replace Ausilio as Inter sporting director
Ausilio will be out of contract at the end of the 2026-27 season and according to reports from various outlets on Wednesday morning, there is no agreement in place over an extension and at this stage, a renewal seems increasingly unlikely.
Ausilio has been with Inter since 1997, originally serving as secretary in the youth set-up, eventually working his way up to the role of first-team sporting director in 2010. He has held that role for the last 16 years.
According to the latest updates from Gianluca Di Marzio the most likely scenario in the event that Ausilio leaves is that his trusted assistant Dario Baccin will be promoted to the role of sporting director.
Baccin, 50, has been with the club for almost a decade, brought into the fold in 2017, and has served in various executive roles since then.

If he were to take over from Ausilio as sporting director, Inter would still need to renegotiate the terms of his contract given that his deal is also set to expire at the end of the 2026-27 season.
