Some party leaders have expressed objection to the use of his chartered plane during his Delhi tour.

Questions raised regarding chartered flights

On Friday, Abhishek Banerjee reached Delhi to meet the Lok Sabha Speaker. It is being told that he used a chartered plane for this journey. Giving his reaction on this issue, senior party leader and MLA Kunal Ghosh said that if the expenses of the journey have been borne from the party fund, then he does not agree with it.

He said that people are discussing his travel and commuting methods, but if someone gives him a written suggestion then he can consider it. He also said that party colleagues have every right to express their opinion and he does not want to make personal comments against anyone.

Rebel leaders also targeted

Some leaders of the disgruntled camp of the party also reacted on this issue. During the conversation in the assembly complex, some leaders raised questions on expensive trips and expenses without taking names. He said that when many workers are facing legal and economic challenges, senior leaders of the organization should give the message of simplicity. He also said that many workers working at the grassroots level are struggling with their resources.

Some leaders claimed that many workers and local leaders are under financial pressure due to court cases and other expenses. At such a time, the need for greater transparency regarding the use of party resources is being felt. Leaders believe that the organization should provide more resources to support and legal aid its workers.

Questions have been raised earlier also on expenses

This is not the first time that Abhishek Banerjee’s travel and lifestyle has been discussed. Even before this, political opponents and some party leaders have been raising questions regarding the use of his private plane and helicopter. According to election affidavits and available information, private planes were used during election campaigns. There has been political debate on this topic from time to time.

According to the information, the aircraft used is a business jet equipped with modern facilities. The operating cost of such aircraft is considered quite high. The total cost of the trip can reach lakhs of rupees when flight time, airport charges, parking and other technical expenses are added. This is the reason why some leaders within the party are raising questions about such trips. On the other hand, supporters say that the use of such means is not unusual given the busy political responsibilities of senior leaders.
