New Delhi: If you use an iPhone and have more than one SIM card for work, then instant messaging platform WhatsApp is bringing a big update for you. WhatsApp is preparing to make the multi-account feature more widespread in the iPhone. According to media reports, the company is now working on giving the option to add maximum three WhatsApp accounts in the same app. This feature will make life much easier for users who use different mobile numbers for personal life, office work and any other business project.
Preparation to exceed the limit of two accounts
WhatsApp had given iPhone users the facility to run two different accounts in the same app. Now the company is preparing to increase this capacity to three accounts.
With the new feature, users will not need to log out repeatedly or use other smartphones and WhatsApp Business apps. Currently this feature is under development and is being tested in select beta versions.
Who will get the direct benefit of this new option?
Often people having three different numbers are forced to keep a separate phone for each number. For example, a user can keep one number just for family, another for daily office work, and a third for any freelance business or personal project. Till now such users have to adopt the method of secondary phone or WhatsApp Business to manage three numbers. With the support of third account in the same application, all these tasks can be completed from a single device without any hassle.
How will this new multi-account system work?
After the implementation of this new update, the process of switching between accounts will be as easy and straightforward as before. Users will be able to link the new number directly from the 'Account List' by going to the Settings menu of WhatsApp. The strongest aspect of this arrangement is the separation of security and privacy, chat history, media, backup, notifications and privacy settings of the three accounts will remain completely separate from each other. When you change the account, the profile picture, name and a clear mark of the active account will be visible on the screen, which will eliminate the fear of accidentally sending messages from another number.
