Technology Desk: iQOO has officially confirmed the launch date of its upcoming flagship smartphone iQOO 16. According to the company, this smartphone will be launched in China on September 29. According to Indian time, the launch event will start at around 4:30 pm. This phone will be offered as an upgrade to iQOO 15 launched last year.
The company has also confirmed three color options of the phone. iQOO 16 will be launched in Chasing Light, Legendary and Racing Track colors.
Expected to get Samsung M16 OLED display
It has been revealed that Samsung's M16 OLED display will be provided in iQOO 16. According to reports, this panel will be used in the flagship segment. The phone can get a 6.85 inch 2K OLED display, which can support 165Hz refresh rate.
2nm chipset and up to 24GB RAM
For performance, iQOO 16 is expected to get Qualcomm's new 2nm chipset. There is talk of introducing it with Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. The phone can have the option of up to 16GB/24GB RAM and up to 1TB storage.
This smartphone which focuses on gaming is also said to have IP68 and IP69 ratings. Apart from this, 3D sonic in-display fingerprint sensor can be provided.
Three 50MP cameras and big battery
For photography, the phone is expected to have a triple camera setup in the rear. In this, all three cameras can be of 50MP. A 50MP camera can also be provided for selfie and video calling.
For power backup, iQOO 16 is said to have a 7500mAh battery. The phone can come with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging support. Talking about software, it is expected to get Android 17.
Currently, the company has confirmed the launch date and color option of iQOO 16. Official information about its remaining specifications and price will be revealed during the launch.
