Iran asked for billions of dollars from Muslim countries, but said to India – ‘You are a true friend, thank you’

Tehran/New Delhi: After talks with America ended inconclusively, Iran now seems to be in a confrontational mood. Taking a shocking step, Iran has demanded huge compensation from its own neighboring Muslim countries. Tehran says that these neighboring countries will also have to bear the economic burden of the damage caused to its economy due to the war. However, amidst this tension, a very relieving and comforting news has come from Iran for India.

War damages demanded from these 5 Muslim countries

Iran has sent formal notices to Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Jordan and Qatar demanding compensation. This demand of Iran has created panic in the Gulf countries. Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani, has made serious allegations against these countries. Iran says that these Muslim-majority countries helped America during the war and violated international laws.

According to Iran’s government news agency IRNA, Iran alleges that these countries opened their airspace and military bases to America, which made it easier to attack Iran. Iran clearly says that since these countries have been partners in the destruction of its properties, now they will have to bear the cost of reconstruction.

Iran’s economy has gone back 12 years?

The Central Bank of Iran has presented a scary assessment. According to the report, it may take more than 12 years to bring Iran’s economy devastated by the war back on track. The biggest challenge in this is to restart the stalled oil refineries. Iran wants to compensate for this huge loss from the pockets of neighboring countries.

‘Special’ friendship for India: ‘Don’t take tension, friend’

While on one hand Iran is lashing out at its neighbours, on the other hand its attitude towards India is very soft and friendly. Iran’s Ambassador to India Mohammad Fatahli has assured that Indian ships will not face any problem in passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Even if America tries to blockade Iran’s ports, Tehran has made it clear that Indian ships will continue to flow unhindered.

Iranian Embassy officials have also donated blood to patients in Delhi to show their love for Indians. Iran is happy that Indians have shown friendship in difficult times. This is a big diplomatic victory for India because about 40% of the crude oil required by India comes through this route. 20% of the world’s oil supply depends on this route, hence Iran’s giving ‘green signal’ to India is no less than a boon.
