From Hormuz to billions of dollars… An agreement changed the game of Middle East, know the main points of the deal in points

Iran US Peace Deal Nuclear Agreement: The fierce tension that has been going on between Iran and America for the last 107 days is now on the verge of ending. The two countries have agreed to a historic 14-point agreement (MoU), which will be officially signed in Geneva, Switzerland on Friday. This agreement is being seen as a major turning point for global peace and economy, as the ceasefire between the two countries has already come into effect.

Hormuz will now open

The most important part of this agreement is the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has agreed to completely lift its military blockade of Hormuz within the next 4 to 30 days, opening the passage to all commercial vessels.

With the opening of this route, the supply of crude oil will be smooth at the global level, due to which there is a possibility of a big fall in the prices of petrol, diesel and LPG. Currently crude oil is trading below $84, which is a great news for the world.

Key points of US-Iran agreement

According to Iranian officials and Mehr News Agency, this 14-point agreement includes several strategic changes.

  • War will be stopped with immediate effect in Lebanon and on other fronts.
  • America will stop interfering in Iran’s internal affairs.
  • Within the next 30 days, America will lift the naval blockade imposed on Iran.
  • American forces will withdraw from Iran’s borders.
  • Iran will fully open Hormuz to international trade within 30 days.
  • US sanctions on oil and petrochemical products will be removed.
  • America and its allies will present a comprehensive plan of $300 billion to rebuild Iran.

Nuclear issues and withdrawal of frozen funds

Iran will be given economic relief in the next phase of the agreement. The US has agreed to release $24 billion of Iran’s seized funds in installments. In return, Iran has made clear that it will not build nuclear weapons and will reduce its stockpile of highly enriched uranium. A final comprehensive agreement on all remaining topics, including nuclear issues, missile programs and UN Security Council resolutions, will be reached within the next 60 days.

competition to take credit

During this agreement there was also a competition to take diplomatic credit. Pakistan tried hard to get full credit for this historic peace agreement, however it did not succeed. Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also confirmed this 14-point agreement.

Interestingly, the draft does not directly mention the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, which the US has termed a separate topic. This agreement will not only reduce the enmity between the two countries, but will also play an important role in bringing stability in the Middle East.
