Israel Reacts to US-Iran Deal: ‘Earthquake’ in Israel due to Trump’s Iran deal, Benjamin Netanyahu’s 3 big promises ruined; Know why Israeli experts got angry

The biggest and ‘stormy’ turn in the war in West Asia (Middle East) has come to the fore. The ‘peace deal’ (US-Iran Peace Deal) that US President Donald Trump is boasting about on the international stage has created a stir in the political and security circles of Israel, America’s closest and trusted ally. Israel’s most popular and influential Hebrew newspaper ‘Yedioth Ahronoth’ has expressed the anger of the entire Israeli public and government by simply writing two big words – ‘Bad Deal’ – in the main headline of its Sunday edition. According to a shocking and detailed report by the prestigious American newspaper ‘The New York Times’, this new agreement taking shape between Trump and Iran destroys all the strategic goals to achieve which Israel had opened a direct war against Tehran. Israeli intelligence experts and opposition leaders openly allege that Donald Trump has put Israel’s national security at stake in his haste to show himself as a ‘peacemaker’ and winner at the global level. Let us understand in detail in this diplomatic analysis why there is so much anger in Israel over this deal and how this so-called peace agreement can become the cause of a new and terrible world war. 1. What is Trump’s secret deal that has shocked Israel? The main points of the leaked agreement, quoted by American and Iranian diplomats, are no less than a major diplomatic blow for Israeli military generals: New suspense of 60 days: According to the initial draft, this agreement will extend the ceasefire in April this year for another 60 days. The most dangerous thing is that during this 60 day buffer time, America and Iran will hold very confidential and detailed talks behind the scenes regarding their nuclear program and permanent removal of American economic sanctions. Transaction game begins: Under the initial Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Iran will open it to the whole world by removing its navy from the world’s most sensitive and important maritime oil route ‘Strait of Hormuz’. In return, America has also shown great heart and promised to lift its strict economic, trade and naval blockade on all major ports of Iran with immediate effect. 2. Netanyahu’s three big national promises, which Trump completely ‘ignored’. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, while addressing the people of the country at the beginning of this war, had sworn that this time he would eliminate the ‘existential threat’ related to Iran forever. But this ‘deal’ of Trump has ruined Netanyahu on these three main fronts: Mysterious silence on nuclear and missile programs: Israel’s main military goal was to completely destroy Iran’s underground nuclear bases and its lethal long-range ballistic missile capabilities through air strikes. But in the details of this international deal that have become public, there is no mention of stopping or destroying Iran’s missile program. Free hand to Tehran’s ‘proxy networks’: Israel’s biggest demand was that Tehran should completely stop financial funding and supply of modern weapons (drones-missiles) to its nurtured armed groups – such as Hezbollah in Lebanon, Houthi rebels in Yemen and Hamas in Gaza. In this Trump deal, no clear or strict mechanism has been put in place to crack down on this dangerous ‘proxy network’ of Iran. The dream of ‘regime change’ in Iran was broken: Netanyahu and the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad believed that through the economic and military pressure of this direct war, the people inside Iran would come out on the streets against the dictatorial government of Ayatollah Khamenei and there would be a political coup (Regime Change). But this economic deal of Trump has given a new lease of life to the deteriorating Iranian economy and its government. 3. Open warning from Israeli leaders: ‘This is a historic disaster for Israel’ While on one hand Donald Trump in Washington is presenting it as his biggest diplomatic and historical victory of the 21st century, on the other hand in Tel Aviv, Israel’s former National Security Advisor Yaakov Nagel has raised a red flag and warned that the main core issues related to Israel’s existence and security have been missing from the agenda of talks. Israeli opposition leaders are adopting an even more aggressive and sharp stance on this issue: Avigdor Liberman (former Defense Minister, Israel): "This so-called peace proposal of the US President is like a stab in the back of Israel’s national interests and it is going to prove to be a huge ‘historic disaster’ for our country."

Yair Lapid (Opposition Leader, Israel): "If these reports coming in the international media are 100% true, then this is the biggest, shameful and unforgivable failure of foreign and security policy in the history of Israel."

4. The real strategic dilemma on Lebanon and Hezbollah front: According to military analysts, the most lethal and immediate impact of this deal is going to be on the ongoing ground military operation of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in Lebanon. Iran’s diplomatic move in the Lebanon war that started in late February this year is to include Lebanon and Hezbollah as a security blanket in any global peace agreement with the US. In contrast, Israel’s military strategy was to continue the war against Hezbollah until it crossed the Litani River, and this front remained completely isolated from negotiations with Tehran. But this new deal of Trump seems to be connecting these two fronts, due to which Israel’s hands will be completely tied in Lebanon and it will not be able to carry out major attacks on Hezbollah. 5. Prime Minister Netanyahu’s helplessness: October elections and fear of Trump. Talking about the internal political scenario of Israel, there is a strong possibility of the country’s general elections being held at the end of October 2026. In such a situation, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is under heavy pressure from his own right-wing coalition government’s radical allies (like Ben-Gvir and Smotrich) and the opposition not to succumb to Washington’s pressure. This is the reason why Netanyahu is not able to openly criticize Donald Trump’s policies even if he wants to, because he has always described Trump to the Israeli public as his and Israel’s biggest political helper and friend. Hiding his political helplessness, Netanyahu only issued a brief statement saying, "As long as I am the Prime Minister of Israel, I will never allow Iran to make nuclear weapons and President Trump also stands with me like a rock on this issue." But he maintained a mysterious silence on the issues of missile programme, Strait of Hormuz and re-funding of Hezbollah, which clearly reflects Israel’s fear. Is this agreement really the beginning of a new world war? Defense experts believe that if the US lifts sanctions on Iran without taking Israel into confidence, then Israel can launch a unilateral and suicidal air strike on Iran’s nuclear centers (such as Natanz and Ford), ignoring Washington’s orders to protect its sovereignty and security. If this happens, instead of bringing peace, this agreement will give rise to a devastating war in the Middle East, in which it will be mandatory for America and the Gulf countries to jump into it.
