Delhi. Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI, through operatives associated with the Shehzad Bhatti module, had conspired to carry out attacks on a historic temple in Delhi, a popular dhaba on the Delhi-Sonipat highway and an army camp in Haryana. According to sources, these things were revealed by the Special Cell of Delhi Police during the interrogation of nine operatives of the module arrested from several states under ‘Gang Bust Operation 2.0’.
Sources said investigators found that one of the accused had conducted reconnaissance of a historic temple in Delhi and sent photographs of the complex through social media to his Pakistan-based handlers. He said the module had hatched a conspiracy to target police personnel and paramilitary forces deployed at the temple and open fire to spread panic and create disruption.
Sources also said that the accused were also assigned the task of carrying out a grenade attack on a popular ‘dhaba’ on the Delhi-Sonipat highway with the intention of causing large-scale damage. Thousands of people come to this dhaba every day. An army camp in Hisar was also recceed and videos from the area were shared with handlers across the border, the source said. Some police stations of Uttar Pradesh were also included in the hit list.
