War Part 2 begins… Israel attacks Lebanon, 18 people die in Lebanon

The war between Israel and Lebanon has intensified again. Four Israeli soldiers have been killed in the overnight fighting. This is considered to be one of the biggest attacks carried out by the Iran-backed group Hezbollah in this war. Apart from this, at least 18 people have been killed in Lebanon in the attack by Israel.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) says it has struck 80 targets linked to the Iran-backed armed group Hezbollah and killed “dozens” of its members.

Attack took place a day after signing of ceasefire

The incident came a day after the US and Iran signed an agreement aimed at ending the conflict in the Middle East, which also includes a permanent cessation of hostilities in Lebanon. This deal says that America, Iran and their allies will immediately stop military action on every front (including Lebanon). Since the announcement of the agreement, both Israel and Hezbollah have attacked each other, raising questions about the future of the ceasefire between the US and Iran. The US-Iran agreement calls for an end to hostilities on all fronts and respect for Lebanon’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Clash on Ali al-Taher Hill

The biggest battle between Hezbollah and Israel took place on a hill named ‘Ali al-Taher’ north of the Litani River. This high point is very important for Hezbollah and Israel wanted to advance here. Hezbollah said that its fighters ambushed Israeli forces on the hill. Besides, three Merkava tanks of Israel were destroyed with guided missiles and soldiers were targeted with rockets and cannon. Later, when the Israeli army came to evacuate its injured comrades, Hezbollah also attacked them.
