The most commonly used method is a one-time password sent to the mobile number linked to Aadhaar (OTP). For this, PAN and Aadhaar must be linked and mobile number must be registered with Aadhaar. E-Verification completes within seconds as soon as OTP is entered. This method is considered fast, safe and easy to use.

Net Banking and EVC options are also available
For those who have internet banking services, they can login to their bank account and go directly to the income tax department portal E-verification can do However, bank account and PAN information must be entered correctly. Apart from this, verification can also be done using Electronic Verification Code (EVC). This code is obtained from a registered bank account or other authorized means. After entering the code on the portal, the process is complete.
Some tax payers can also avail this facility through demat account. There is also a facility to use Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) for businesses and some organizations.
How to do e-verification?
First of all login to the official e-filing portal of Income Tax Department. After that select the e-verification option and fill the required information. In this verification can be completed after filling PAN number, assessment year, receipt number of return and other necessary details.
In some cases the facility to do this process is available without login only with the help of PIN number. This makes the entire process much easier.
