Janhvi Kapoor’s disturbing AI-generated video of her song Chuttamalle from Devara, in which she appeared alongside Jr NTR, has gone viral for the wrong reasons. The AI video is a morphed version of the actress’ appearance that has been digitally altered to create sexually explicit imagery that was never a part of the original song.
Jr NTR took to X to slam such distasteful videos and firmly asserted that he would take legal action. After Jr NTR and Janhvi condemned the deepfake, several celebrities, including Vijay Deverakonda, Chiranjeevi and Khushbu Sundar, also spoke out against the misuse of AI and the circulation of such content.
‘Made crores of people see objectionable link’: RGV criticises celebs for reacting
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma also reacted to the AI-morphed video featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Jr NTR’s song Chuttamalle. RGV questioned the way celebrities responded to the incident.
“The only thing all the celebrities succeeded in is to publicise and thereby make crores and crores of people see the objectionable link,” Varma said on X.
He further stated that the focus should have been on identifying and catching the person responsible for creating and circulating the content.
“The smart thing would have been to concentrate on catching the perpetrator and publicise that,” he added.
Calling out the misuse of technology to objectify women, Janhvi said that circulating fictionalised content without consent is “deeply violating”.
Disgusting, Sick and Shameless.
In a land that worships women as mothers and goddesses, where “Matrudevo Bhava” is not just a phrase but a part of our culture, some people have fallen so low that they are using AI to disrespect a woman in the most degrading way possible. Using AI to create something this vile is shameful beyond words.
To the scumbags behind this morphed Chuttamalle video, I will not spare any of you. I will take every possible legal action against those who created it and those who are spreading it.
Please do not watch, share or engage with such content. Today it is someone else. Tomorrow, it could be your mother, sister, wife or daughter.
This is a serious issue, and I urge all the state governments and the Government of India to act strongly and bring in strict regulations against the misuse of AI.

Janhvi said it was surprising that some people still failed to understand that consent must be respected at all times. She pointed out that even if a woman says yes on several occasions and says no on another, her “no” must be respected. She further stressed that a woman wearing a miniskirt does not give anyone permission to secretly film her, capture violating angles or visually exploit her body.
“It is surprising that it still seems too nuanced for some people to understand that even if a woman says yes five days in a row and no on the sixth, that no must be respected,” Kapoor wrote.
“This goes far beyond the AI videos I have dealt with over the last few days, or anything I have personally experienced throughout my career. It is about the larger reality of being a woman: the gaze, the judgement, the constant negotiation for safety, and the feeling that our boundaries somehow remain open to interpretation,” she added.
She said the threat has now moved into the digital space too.
“The answer cannot simply be to ‘protect your daughter.’ We also need to undo the conditioning that makes people believe they are entitled to violate somebody else’s boundaries in the first place,” Kapoor wrote.
Janhvi also thanked her co-star Jr NTR for speaking out after the video began circulating.
“I am deeply touched by NTR sir for taking such a strong stand and condemning this violation. When someone whom millions look up to speaks up about something that may not directly concern him, it makes a difference to every woman who has experienced some degree of this behaviour,” she wrote.
