Jantar Mantar assault case heated up again, CJP leaders reached Parliament Street police station to demand justice for Nishu Azad's father.

New Delhi. The case of alleged assault on activist Nishu Azad's father Sanjay Kumar during the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar has once again heated up. CJP leaders and workers demonstrated in Delhi on Friday demanding action in the matter. CJP leader Saurav Das and national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka along with Nishu Azad reached Parliament Street police station in New Delhi and demanded action from the police against the accused.

The issue arose again after the viral podcast clip

CJP leaders say that Sanjay Kumar was assaulted during a peaceful demonstration at Jantar Mantar. The party alleged that after the incident, continuous action was demanded from the police, but the expected action was not taken. Now the matter has come into discussion again after a podcast clip went viral on social media.

CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das alleged that action should be taken against those who indulged in violence during the protest. He claimed that Delhi Police had said that a large number of people involved in serious crimes had been identified at Jantar Mantar. He identified such people and demanded legal action against them.

'The accused should be identified and arrested'

Saurav Das said that CJP has stood with the students and affected families since the beginning. He demanded that the people involved in the incident at Jantar Mantar should be identified and arrested. He also raised questions regarding the law and order of Delhi and demanded the police to answer in the matter. At the same time, CJP national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka alleged that Nishu Azad's father Sanjay Azad was attacked on the head during the demonstration. He claims that since the incident, strict action is being demanded from the police against the accused.

The person made the claim in the podcast clip

According to CJP leaders, in a podcast clip viral on social media, a person named Swatantra Bhardwaj has allegedly claimed that it was he who attacked Sanjay Azad on his head. In the clip, he is also being claimed to have said that no major legal action will be taken against him due to political influence. However, the claims made in the viral video have not been independently verified. Citing this clip, CJP has demanded the police to investigate the matter and take action against the concerned person and other accused.

'Serious sections including attempt to murder should be imposed'

Ashutosh Ranka said that the party demands that those who have accepted their alleged role in the incident should be arrested and a case should be registered against them under serious sections including attempt to murder. With this demand, Saurav Das, Ashutosh Ranka and other workers reached Sansad Marg police station from Patel Chowk. During this time Nishu Azad was also present. CJP leaders demanded the police to take immediate action in the case and provide justice to the victim's family.
