New Delhi, 4 September 2026: A major military exercise has been organized by the Indian Air Force (IAF) near the southern part of the Pakistan border, for which the government has issued a notification regarding reserving airspace. There will be a ban on normal air traffic during the scheduled time in the airspace around Jaisalmer, Barmer, Phalodi and Jodhpur of Rajasthan. According to the NOTAM issued, this airspace reservation will be in effect from 21 September to 7 October 2026.
During this study, aggressive activities of the Air Force will be seen in Indian territory opposite Pakistan's Jacobabad, Sukkur, Nawabshah, Karachi, Multan and Bahawalpur. The upper limit of airspace for the study has been kept from 27,000 feet to 49,000 feet, which shows that there will be a lot of movement of fighter jets and other aircraft at high altitude in the sky.
- The timetable for this airspace reservation will be as follows as per Indian Time (IST):
From 9 am to 1 pm and from 8 pm to 12 midnight during 21st to 24th September.
From 9 am to 1 pm and from 8 pm to 12 midnight during 28th to 30th September.
On October 1, from 9 am to 1 pm and from 8 pm to 12 midnight.
From 9 am to 1 pm and from 8 pm to 12 midnight during October 5 to 7.
This airspace reservation is around the highly sensitive areas of the India-Pakistan international border such as Naal-Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Barmer and Uttaralai, which are considered very important from security point of view.
