Jehanabad: Mobile phones distributed to 103 needy under ‘Operation Muskaan’

Mobile phones were distributed to 103 needy people under the ‘Operation Muskaan’ campaign run by the police in the district. The initiative aims to help people who had their mobile phones stolen or lost and were unable to purchase a new phone.

In this regard, Superintendent of Police Aparajita Lohan informed that ‘Operation Muskaan’ is a special program under which mobile phones recovered by the police are directly delivered to the needy and eligible people.

He told that there are many families whose children’s education, online classes or other activities depend on mobile. In such a situation, they have to face a lot of problems due to loss or theft of their mobile. Through this campaign, the police is trying to provide relief to those families.

The SP said that whenever a lost or stolen mobile is recovered by the police, it is handed over to the needy person after the verification process. He said that this initiative has been named ‘Operation Smile’ after seeing the happiness on the faces of the beneficiaries.

Hundreds of people have benefited from this campaign so far and this initiative is continuing. It is not only helping the needy but also strengthening the trust between the police and the common people.
