Jharkhand Student JPSC Protest: The first round of talks between the Jharkhand government and students protesting alleged irregularities in the JPSC and JSSC examinations has concluded. A four-member ministerial panel formed by Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s government met with a delegation of 10 students and heard their demands. Both sides described the talks as positive, though the students made it clear that the protest would continue until all their key demands were met.

The government formed a committee of four ministers to negotiate with the students. It includes:
- Chamra Linda (JMM)
- Sudibya Kumar Sonu (JMM)
- Deepika Pandey Singh (Congress)
- Sanjay Prasad Yadav (RJD)

“The first meeting was positive,”
After the meeting, student leader Ravindra Paswan said, “This was our first meeting, and the discussion was very positive. It felt like a family meeting and discussing it. We are confident that the Chief Minister and the government will seriously consider our demands.”
If even one demand is not met, the movement will continue.
Before the meeting, Ravindra Paswan had said that the delegation was approaching the government as the voice of the youth of entire Jharkhand. He said, “All our demands are essential. If even one major demand is not met, we will not consider this dialogue a success and the movement will continue.”
The next meeting will be held soon
A member of the students’ core committee stated that the government has assured them of conveying their concerns to Chief Minister Soren. The next meeting between the two sides will be held soon. He added that the agitation and protests will continue until concrete assurances are received from the government. If the government takes a positive stance, the planned march to the Assembly on August 10th may be reconsidered.
