Kajal Aggarwal reacts to Kiara Advani’s ‘Toxic’ controversy
Kajal Aggarwal recently reflected on the “personal choice” behind doing explicit scenes amid the ongoing backlash against Kiara Advani over her upcoming film Toxic.
The 41-year-old actress, who is balancing her motherhood with her acting career, was asked why female actors are often criticised for doing bold scenes after marriage.
In a recent conversation with Shubhankar Mishra, she shared her thoughts on why men and women are judged differently in the film industry.
Speaking exclusively, she responded, “I think it becomes a personal choice. A man should use his brain and make a choice if he wants to do it or not. It should come from inside, that I don’t want to do it. Women are more cautious about it.”
Later in the interview, the Singham star opened up about her personal stance on performing bold scenes.
Reflecting on her personal preference, she said, “I can only speak about myself. I have never done such roles. I have never been up for intimacy on screen, or wearing anything that I am not comfortable with – for example a bikini on screen. I have never done roles like that because I feel uncomfortable. I just say no. I have rejected many big films because of this reason. But, I am okay to give it up. That is my personal boundary and I don’t want to cross it. That is an internal thing for me.”
Aggarwal’s remarks come amid the backlash Kiara has been facing over her bold scene with Yash in the new released song Tabahi from the much-awaited film Toxic.
Meanwhile, Aggarwal is gearing up for the release of The India Storyco-starring Shreyas Talpade. The film is set to hit theatres on Friday, July 24.
