Kanya Pujan Bhog: Prepare gram, puri and halwa in 40 minutes on Ashtami-Navami, know the easy way.

New Delhi: Ashtami and Navami days are considered very special in Shardiya Navratri. These days, Kanya Puja is performed in homes. Small girls are considered to be the form of Mother Durga and are worshiped and given food. Halwa made of black gram, puri and semolina has special importance in the prasad of Kanya Puja. However, it becomes a bit difficult to prepare all three things amidst the preparation for puja in the morning and other work. In such a situation, if you do the work properly, you can prepare the entire bhog in about 30 to 40 minutes.

First boil black gram

While preparing black gram for Kanya Puja, do not forget to soak it in water the night before. In the morning, add soaked gram, salt and water as per requirement and cook. Boil on medium flame till the gram becomes soft. After this, heat oil in a pan and add cumin and asafoetida in it. Now add turmeric, coriander powder and some red chilli and fry the spices. Add boiled gram to it. To enhance the taste, you can add ginger, green chilli and some garam masala. Let the gram cook for a few minutes, so that the spices mix well.

Prepare semolina pudding in 10 minutes

While the gram is cooking, you can prepare the halwa. For this, heat desi ghee in a pan and add semolina to it and fry on low flame until it turns golden. If you want good aroma and different taste in halwa, then you can also add some gram flour along with semolina. Now add water slowly into it and keep stirring continuously, so that lumps do not form. When semolina starts rising, add sugar and cardamom powder as per taste. Prepare the halwa by adding roasted cashews, almonds and raisins on top.

Finally make hot puri

To make Puri, add some salt to wheat flour and knead a stiff dough. Keep it covered for a few minutes and then make small balls and roll them into puris. Heat oil in a pan and fry the puris until they turn golden. Keep in mind that the oil is well heated, so that the puris are puffed and ready. In this way, if done in the right order, gram, halwa and puri can be prepared quickly for Kanya Puja. However, the total time will depend on the pre-soaking of the gram, cooking in the cooker and the arrangement for frying the puris. Therefore, take out some time in advance to prepare for the puja.
