New Delhi . Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is often in the news about his films and personal life. This time he has shared an incident related to his family which has once again brought the story of the early days of the marriage of his parents Salim Khan and Salma Khan into the limelight. In Bigg Boss 20's Weekend Ka Vaar, Salman told that his maternal grandfather was not happy with his parents' marriage and due to this resentment, he did not talk to Salim Khan for almost five years. According to Salman, the reason for this resentment was not religion but Salim Khan's attempt to become an actor and being associated with the film industry.
During the show, Salman Khan was talking about the dispute between the house members. Referring to the fight between Gullu and Nakul, he made it clear that he will not tolerate violence at home. During this conversation, he narrated an old incident related to his life. Salman told that when his parents got married, his maternal grandfather was worried about how his daughter would live in an environment where her husband was dreaming of working in the film industry. According to Salman, his maternal grandfather had objections to Salim Khan's personality and his desire to become an actor.
Salman told that due to this resentment his maternal grandfather did not talk to Salim Khan for five years. This distance between the family continued for a long time. However, with time the circumstances changed and warmth started returning in the family relationships. According to Salman, after the birth of his younger brother Sohail Khan, his maternal grandfather had come to meet him. He had brought a box of Jalebi from Mahim to Bandra. This meeting was special for the family because after a long standing resentment, Nana himself had taken the initiative to improve the relationship.
Salman told that during the meeting, his maternal grandfather expressed regret that he had made a big mistake by not seeing his grandson and granddaughter grow up. He also told Salma Khan that she can come to her maternal home whenever she wants but there should not be any fight when she comes home. In this way the distance in the family gradually reduced and relationships got a new beginning. This statement of Salman shows that no matter how long the family resentment persists, it can be removed with time and mutual understanding.
The love story of Salim Khan and Salma Khan has also been interesting. It is said that their closeness started by looking at each other while standing in the balcony. Salim Khan had also told earlier that they used to meet sometimes in the evening and night. When Salma's family came to know about this relationship, pressure from the family started increasing. After this both of them decided to get married. After their marriage, Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan and Alvira Khan were born in the family.
In later years, actress Helen also came into Salim Khan's life. Salim and Helen met on the sets of the film Kabali Khan in 1963. Gradually their friendship turned into love and they got married in 1980. Salim Khan was already married and had four children. With time, the family also adopted Helen and today respect and affection for her is visible in the Khan family. This story of Salman Khan has once again brought the ups and downs of his family's personal life and relationships into discussion.
