Tezzbuzz Desk- If we talk about the valleys of Jammu and Kashmir and its food, the name of Kashmiri Kahwa definitely comes up. Due to its special aroma, mild spicy taste and aroma of saffron, this tea is very much liked among the people.
No special or difficult ingredients are required to make Kahwa. You can prepare it easily with the help of some spices and dry fruits present at home. Even if you want to serve something different and hot to the guests, Kashmiri Kahwa can be a good option.
Ingredients for making Kashmiri Kahwa
- 3 cups water
- 10-12 saffron threads
- half inch cinnamon
- 1 clove
- 1 lightly crushed green cardamom
- half teaspoon dried rose petals
- 1 teaspoon Kashmiri green tea or normal green tea
- 2 teaspoons finely chopped almonds
- 2 teaspoons honey, as per taste
Prepare Kashmiri Kahwa like this
First of all, put 3 cups of water in a pan and heat it on medium flame. When the water starts boiling, reduce the flame.
Now add cinnamon, cloves, crushed cardamom, saffron and dry rose petals. Let all these things cook on low flame for about 3 to 4 minutes, so that the aroma of spices and saffron gets absorbed properly in the water.
After this, turn off the gas and add green tea into it. Instead of boiling it for a long time, keep it covered for about 30 to 40 seconds, so that the taste of tea does not become bitter.
Now filter the kahwa and put it in a cup. Add finely chopped almonds and honey as per taste. Sprinkle some saffron threads on top and serve hot.
These flavors make Kahve special
The specialty of Kashmiri Kahwa is the spices and aromatic things used in it. Cinnamon and cardamom give it a warming and spicy taste, while saffron and rose petals make its aroma special. Adding almonds gives it a light crunch and the taste of dry fruits. If you like sweet then you can add honey.
