Mathura:The matter heated up in the provincial section of the Public Works Department when a class IV female employee complained to the District Magistrate, making serious allegations against the Assistant Engineer of the department. The female employee has accused the officer of indecency, abusing, molestation and attempting to assault. After the complaint came to light, there was a stir at the departmental level also.
Allegations of inappropriate behavior and rivalry for a long time
The victim alleges that the assistant engineer was behaving inappropriately towards her for a long time. When he protested, the officers started harboring a grudge against him. The incident that took place in the office on September 3 further increased the controversy. According to the female employee, she was working in the cashier room when the assistant engineer arrived there and allegedly started misbehaving with her over a small matter.
Attempted assault and staff intervention
The female employee alleges that when she protested, the officer lost his temper and moved towards her to assault her. The employees present in the office intervened and handled the situation. After the incident, the victim complained to the District Magistrate on Monday, describing herself as unsafe and demanded an impartial investigation into the entire matter and action.
District Magistrate and XEN assured investigation
Seeing the seriousness of the matter, District Magistrate CP Singh has assured to conduct an investigation by the City Magistrate. Meanwhile, PWD's XEN Gulveer Singh has said that action will be taken as per rules based on the facts revealed in the investigation.
