Free agent guard Keaton Wallace has signed a two-year contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv, the Israeli team announced today in a press release.
“Keaton is a player who brings toughness and intensity on both ends of the floor,” head coach Oded Kattash said. “We are confident he will quickly connect with the team and the fans, helping us achieve our goals this season.”
According to Tomer Givati of Israel Hayom (story in Hebrew), Wallace’s new contract will pay him $1.2MM per season.
Wallace, who went undrafted out of Texas-San Antonio in 2021, spent a couple of years with the Clippers’ G League affiliate and briefly spent time on a two-way deal with Los Angeles during the 2022/23 campaign. He played a third NBAGL season with the Hawks‘ affiliate team before inking a two-way deal with Atlanta in July 2024.
The 27-year-old point guard played all of 2024/25 on a two-way contract before being promoted to the standard roster last season. Wallace made 84 regular season appearances over the past two years with the Hawks, averaging 4.2 points, 2.1 assists, and 1.3 rebounds in 12.3 minutes per game.
Wallace was eligible for restricted free agency this summer, but the Hawks opted not to issue him a qualifying offer worth roughly $3.1MM. Donatas Urbonas of BasketNews previously reported that Maccabi Tel Aviv, which recently signed longtime NBA center Daniel Theis, was eyeing Wallace.
Wallace is the older brother of Thunder guard Cason Wallace.
