Violent incidents have now started coming to light in the ongoing students’ protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. The mob is now targeting journalists. In this protest, a clash was seen between the police and the protesters on Wednesday evening. A team from Khabargaon also reached Jantar Mantar late night to cover this clash. The mob was surrounding and beating a journalist and Khabargaon reporter Satyam Tiwari covered it. He questioned the people present there as to why they were doing this. During this time, some anarchist elements also attacked the Khabargaon team. Cameraman Mohit Shukla also got injured in this attack.
After this incident of violence, the team of Khabargaon returned to the studio and shared the entire incident through video on YouTube. Satyam told that on the night of 22nd and 23rd July we had gone out to cover the protest. We have been covering this protest since June 5 and from June 20 to July 20, our team covered the entire protest. Even after that we continued going and we went even at night. Delhi Police had removed the security and we had gone to do the story on this.

The crowd was beating the journalist
Satyam told about the incident that when he reached, some people were beating a person outside Jantar Mantar. Satyam said, ‘It was told that Godi belongs to the media so they are killing. Some people were saving him. This protest grew so much that some people threw water on the camera. Some people were taking us to rescue and people were trying to kill us. Mohit lagged behind me and was killed.
Satyam further said, ‘After this we reached a place and it was 200 meters away from the main stage. There was police here too so we felt a little safe. We asked the people present there on what basis are you calling us Godi Media. However, no one could answer it.
Cameraman got injured
Cameraman Mohit Shukla was beaten by the mob. He told that while he was shooting, some people came and asked him whether he was Godi Media or not. He said, ‘I said you watch our channel. Some people started snatching my card. Meanwhile someone threw water from the front. People started saying that if Godi is not media then speak. When I was trying to save the camera, they started hitting me.
Mohit also got injured in this incident. Mohit told that some people were also trying to save me. He told that even when we reached the safe zone, people were listening to what we were saying. Mohit told that most of the people were abusing and raising slogans.

Khabargaon raised questions
Nikhil Kamath of Khabargaon raised questions as to what has been done to our studio for which you think we should be punished. Satyam said that whenever people go to protest, such incidents happen but when they start siege and kill, then it is very wrong. Nikhil said that he will continuously cover this protest at Khabargaon.
He said that Khabargaon will definitely ask the people leading the protest on such incidents. The incidents of attacks on journalists have been increasing continuously since June 20. Many journalists are being killed and driven away there. Due to increasing incidents of violence, questions are now being raised on this movement.
