Kharge and Rahul wrote a letter to PM Modi, demanding an impartial investigation into the Ram Temple case, said- ‘Devotees are feeling cheated’

New Delhi, 19 July. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi have written a joint letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding an independent and comprehensive investigation into the financial affairs of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Both the leaders said that the questions raised regarding the management of money and other offerings donated by devotees should be answered in a transparent manner.

‘Devotees are feeling cheated’

In a letter to the Prime Minister, Kharge and Rahul Gandhi said that lakhs of devotees are hurt by the allegations of alleged financial irregularities related to the Ram temple. He wrote that people who donate with devotion and faith are feeling cheated and the government’s silence in such a matter cannot be considered appropriate.

Questions raised on trust formation and accountability

In the letter, the Congress leaders said that following the instructions of the Supreme Court, the central government had announced the formation of the trust in the Parliament and its members were also appointed by the government. He stressed the need to ensure accountability and transparency of the Trust.

Demand for independent investigation and forensic audit

Kharge and Rahul Gandhi urged the Prime Minister to conduct an independent and comprehensive investigation into all financial transactions of the Trust, including cash, gold, silver and other offerings. Also, the investigation report and accounts of the trust should be made public, so that devotees can get information about how their donations were used.

Demand for action against the culprits

The letter said that if any person is found guilty during the investigation, action should be taken against him as per law, regardless of his position or influence. Congress leaders said that the credibility of the Central Government and the Trust in this matter will depend on how fair, transparent and time-bound the investigation is conducted.
