When Iran started war again with America, Pakistan got angry
Amidst increasing tensions with America, Iran has currently stopped all its responsibilities under the Islamabad Agreement. This decision of Iran has also drawn a strong reaction from Pakistan. Pakistan’s security affairs expert and geopolitical analyst Ali K. Chishti called it a “reckless and dangerous decision”. He says that this will increase tension in the entire region and the people of Iran will suffer the most.
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi told Fars News Agency that America violated the Islamabad Agreement during the talks itself. In such a situation, Iran is now taking necessary steps for its security. Meanwhile, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Bakai said that Iran will abide by the agreement only when America also abides by its conditions. He clearly said that the agreement cannot apply to just one party.
Pakistan’s security expert Ali K. Chishti wrote on social media that Iran’s complete withdrawal from the Islamabad Agreement is a very wrong decision. According to him, this agreement could have reduced the tension between the two countries, Iran could have got relief from sanctions, there would have been relaxation in oil exports and the path for negotiations would have been open. He said that choosing the path of war is not a matter of strength, but a step which will increase oil prices, spread instability in the entire region and the common people of Iran will suffer the most.
US President Donald Trump had said during the NATO summit on July 8 that the Islamabad Agreement is now over. He cited the growing dispute with Iran over the movement of ships through the Strait of Hormuz as the reason for this.
On Saturday, the US carried out airstrikes on several military bases and logistics centers in central and southern parts of Iran. These also included the areas around Yazd and Ahwaz. In response, Iran launched retaliatory attacks on US military bases in Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan.
The Islamabad Agreement agreed to halt fighting for 60 days, reopen the Strait of Hormuz and begin negotiations for a permanent solution. But now attacks between the two countries have started again. In such a situation, this agreement seems to be almost ending and the tension in the entire Middle East has once again increased rapidly.
