Kia India has given clear indications of the arrival of its new flagship SUV ‘Kia Sorento’ in India. A teaser released by the company recently showed a glimpse of the Italian city of ‘Sorento’, which confirms that this upcoming model will be the Sorento. According to media reports, unofficial bookings for this car have also started at some official dealerships, and this car is likely to be officially launched in the next few weeks.

Powerful Hybrid Engine and Performance

This SUV will be known as Kia’s flagship ICE internal combustion engine SUV in the Indian market. It is highly likely to get a strong hybrid petrol engine. In the international market, this car is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol hybrid engine, which generates a maximum power of 238 hp and a peak torque of 380 Nm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Globally, this car is available in both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options, but it is not yet clear which option will be offered in India.

Five, six and seven-seater options

The biggest feature of the Kia Sorento is its cabin and seating layout. This premium SUV can be offered in three different seating options – 5-seater, 6-seater and 7-seater. If this happens, it will be the only SUV in its segment to offer all three seating options.

This SUV has been seen testing on Indian roads many times over the past few months.

Length: 4,815 mm
Width: 1,900 mm
Height: 1,700 mm

Talking about the exterior design of the car, it gets Kia’s signature ‘tiger nose’ grille, vertical LED lights, roof rails, chrome window surround and 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
