Knicks HC makes stunning claim after epic Game 4 win
The New York Knicks achieved the biggest comeback win in NBA Finals history against the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 on Wednesday when they came back from a 29-point deficit to win by one point in the final 1.2 seconds.
Jalen Brunson and the Knicks had their hands full with Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs, but in the end, they were able to put the pressure on enough to get the win.
While Brunson is the face of the Knicks, other players stepped it up, too. One of them was Jose Alvarado, who scored eight points in the fourth quarter and helped boost OG Anunoby and Brunson to the point where they could close out this game.
Mike Brown thinks OG Anunoby deserves a spot in Knicks history
After the game, Knicks head coach Mike Brown had quite a statement about Anunoby’s game-winning shot. He thinks it’s the best in the history of the Knicks.
“It’s unbelievable,” Brown said of the shot, according to ESPN. “You know, the tip, how he had to control it and tip it in, and then like I said, you know, that has to be the most iconic shot in the history of New York basketball.”
Also, following the game, Brunson had a warning for anyone who thinks it’s time to celebrate. He told reporters, “It’s not over yet.”
“We got a lot to learn in these next couple of days, but our mentality has to be 0-0 – the way it’s been,” Brunson said, according to Robert Sanchez of SNY. “It has to be that way, and I feel like us moving forward with that mindset could really benefit us. There’s nothing to celebrate because it’s not over yet. Not even close.”
Next up, Game 5 is set for Saturday in San Antonio. If the Knicks win, they’ll be the champions.
