Krunal Pandya Holds RCB Together in Tricky 167 Chase
A resilient knock from Krunal Pandya has revived and stabilised RCB’s 167-run chase in the IPL 2026 game played against the Mumbai Indians at Raipur.
After being invited to bat first, Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma opened the innings while Bhuvneshwar Kumar opened the bowling attack.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar bagged the wicket of Ryan Rickelton for 2 runs. He got dismissed on catch by Rajat Patidar in mid off. The RCB bowler bagged his second wicket, dismissing Rohit Sharma for 22 runs.
He got dismissed on a lengthy ball where Jitesh Sharma picked the catch behind the wickets. In the same over, he bagged the wicket of Suryakumar Yadav for a duck as the Mumbai Indians lost three wickets for 28 runs.
However, Naman Dhir and Tilak Varma anchored the innings as Mumbai Indians scored 53 runs in the powerplay.
The duo forged a 82-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Rasikh Salam broke the crucial breakthrough dismissing Naman Dhir for 47 runs.
He got bowled out on a back of length delivery as Mumbai Indians lost 4 wickets for 110 runs. With Will Jacks dismissal for 10 runs, Tilak Varma scored his fifty and continued Mumbai Indians fight back. However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar bagged the wicket of Tilak Varma for 57 runs.
Josh Hazlewood bagged his first wicket dismissing Raj Bawa for 16 runs. With Corbin Bosch and Deepak Chahar at crease, Mumbai Indians scored 166 runs in 20 overs.

Chasing 167 runs, Jacob Bethell and Virat Kohli opened the innings while Deepak Chahar opened the bowling attack.
Chahar bagged the first wicket of Virat Kohli for duck. He got dismissed on a catch took by Raj Bawa in the mid off.
He bagged his second wicket of Devdutt Padikkal for 12 runs. He got dismissed on a outside off delivery as the ball got thick edge with Ryan Rickelton taking the catch behind the wicket.
With Corbin Bosch bagging the wicket of Rajat Patidar for 8 runs, He got dismissed after Rickelton took the catch behind the wickets.
With Jacob Bethell and Krunal Pandya at crease, Royal Challengers Bengaluru scored 47 runs in the powerplay.
The duo forged a 55-run partnership before Corbin Bosch bagged the wicket of Jacob Bethell for 27 runs.
However, Krunal Pandya was the only scorer holding RCB’s innings in the game. His knock guided the side to cross 100 run mark. He cross 32-ball fifty reviving the side from the early collapse.
