The 11-day Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations come to an end today, and the last day of Ganpati Visarjan is called Anant Chaturdashi. The grand visarjan of Lalbaugcha Raja is underway in Parel, Mumbai. Thousands of devotees are stationed near the Ganpati idol, seeking their last darshan of Lalbaugcha Raja. The visarjan procession will make its way from Lalbaug to Girgaon Chowpatty.
Mumbai Police have made extensive security arrangements for Anant Chaturdashi, with more than 22,000 police personnel expected to be deployed across the city. The security deployment will also include personnel from the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).
Quick Response Teams (QRTs) and Bomb Detection and Disposal Squads (BDDS) will be stationed at strategic locations. Major immersion sites and procession routes will remain under heightened security as Mumbai prepares for the final and most crowded day of Ganeshotsav 2026.
Apart from thousands of devotees, Anant Ambani is also part of the visarjan procession.
A day before the visarjan, on Thursday, Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani and his wife Nita Ambani were spotted visiting Mumbai’s iconic Lalbaugcha Raja pandal with their grandchildren.
Clips showed Mukesh Ambani holding Isha Ambani’s daughter. Near the idol, Anant Ambani was also seen putting tilak on his niece’s forehead, although she refused to have it applied.
Radhika Merchant was also present for the darshan.
Anant Ambani performed a traditional Sashtang Namaskar, a full prostration in which eight body parts touch the ground, while seeking blessings at Mumbai’s famous Lalbaugcha Raja. Viral videos captured the billionaire’s son kneeling completely on the ground, placing his forehead on the floor and touching the feet of the deity as he expressed his devotion and humility.

The Ambani family shares a long-standing association with the iconic Lalbaugcha Raja pandal. Anant Ambani had previously gifted a massive 20-kg gold crown, reportedly worth ₹15 crore, to the deity.
The Ambanis are also ensuring that devotees who could not attend Lalbaugcha Raja for darshan can watch the celebrations live, with the livestream sponsored by Jio.
The grand Ganpati celebrations started at Antilia with the Ambani family welcoming Ganpati Bappa, fondly known as ‘Antilia Cha Raja’, on September 13. To mark the occasion, the Ambani residence was beautifully decorated with flowers and lights.
The annual Ganpati celebration was a star-studded affair, with several Bollywood celebrities and sports personalities joining the festivities with their families. Content creators who were invited also shared videos on social media, giving glimpses of the celebrations inside Antilia.
Meanwhile, this year saw several celebrities seeking the blessings of Lalbaugcha Raja, including Kartik Aaryan, Ayushmann Khurrana, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sidharth Malhotra, Sanjay Dutt, Manyata Dutt, among others.
