The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) unveiled the Digital Connectivity Rating (DCR) Platform on Friday in New Delhi to enhance transparency about digital connectivity in properties for consumers.
This platform enables the public to view ratings of properties based on their digital connectivity performance, facilitating more informed choices when selecting homes or offices.
Anil Kumar Lahoti, TRAI Chairman, stated that making these ratings publicly searchable and certificates verifiable will empower consumers with trustworthy information, supporting reliable calls, downloads, and online services.
The initiative also encourages property managers to integrate robust digital connectivity infrastructure during development phases, highlighting its importance to future residents and tenants.
Consumers can search for properties by name, certificate ID, or location, and verify the authenticity of digitally signed rating certificates via QR codes.
This visibility aims to make digital connectivity a prominent feature in property evaluation, allowing buyers or lessees to make well-informed decisions before finalising agreements.
To impact property prices
The DCR platform connects Property Managers, registered Digital Connectivity Rating Agencies (DCRAs), and consumers through a unified digital interface.
Registered DCRAs gain access to applications for assessment, testing, documentation management, and rating completion in line with the prescribed framework.
To support field assessments, a dedicated mobile app allows authorised DCRAs to conduct in-building connectivity measurements following standard methodologies.
Data collected via the web portal and mobile app synchronises within the platform, ensuring comprehensive and accurate property connectivity profiles.
