Quad’s big bet in energy sector: All four countries will work together for strong supply chain in Indo-Pacific
Indo Pacific Energy Strategy: A very important meeting of the foreign ministers of the Quad countries was held on Tuesday in New Delhi, the capital of India. India, the US, Australia and Japan have issued a new and major joint statement to strengthen energy security in the Indo-Pacific region. The main common goal of all these member countries is to maintain the energy supply completely secure, stable and without any interruption. Any major disruption in the global energy market has the greatest and most direct impact on the Indo-Pacific region.
The Quad countries clearly believe that it has now become very important to give first priority to the energy security of this important region. Together, the four countries will work rapidly to make the international energy market completely stable, highly transparent and reliable. Along with this, emphasis has also been laid on making the entire supply chain of oil, gas and other essential resources more strong and diverse. The main objective of this big step is to reduce dependence on any one source and completely save the world from energy crisis.

The Quad group has also described the security of all maritime trade routes as very important and necessary for the world. This includes ensuring that the movement of ships around the world, including through the Strait of Hormuz, continues unhindered. Maintaining safe transportation, especially on critical routes, will ensure the normal flow of global trade.
In the meeting, great emphasis was laid on taking into special consideration the energy needs of small island and developing countries. These member countries believe that these small developing countries are very sensitive and vulnerable to the energy crisis. The Quad countries will cooperate fully in meeting all the energy needs of each other and regional partners in emergency situations.
New initiatives at regional level
According to the statement, various initiatives going on at the regional level are playing an important role in strengthening energy and resource security. These include Japan’s POWRR initiative, which aims to make resource management much safer. Similarly, India is continuously giving its full cooperation and huge support to the countries of South Asia in energy security.
Australia is fully helping in meeting the energy needs and strengthening the system in South-East Asia and the Pacific region. For this important work, Australia has also officially launched a very big and new investment plan of 2 billion dollars. Apart from this, work is also going on to strengthen the electricity network and improve the infrastructure of all ASEAN countries.

Quad Energy Security Forum
Quad countries have launched “Quad Initiative on Indo-Pacific Energy Security” It has been said that a very new and important initiative will be started. Under this, there will be mutual cooperation in major areas like technology, policy, energy management and emergency response exercises. Additionally, a ‘Quad Fuel Security Forum’ will also be established where energy related issues will be discussed regularly.
