To get there during the season, he would need to maintain a pace well within his reach: if he played 65 games, for example, he would need exactly 24 points per game. Another barrier that once seemed unreachable could fall during James’ 24th season.

James is also closing in on the all-time assists podium. He needs just 76 assists to pass Jason Kidd and move into third place in NBA history.

And there’s room for another major jump. With just 29 stealsLeBron would pass Gary Payton and move into fifth place all time in steals.

There’s also a record that may receive less attention but is just as significant. LeBron needs 27 wins to pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and become the player with the most career regular-season wins in NBA history.

At 41 years old and on the eve of his 24th season, LeBron James isn’t simply extending his career. He continues to rewrite all-time rankings that once seemed destined to remain untouched.
