Legal literacy camp in Greenwood Public School, gave information about law to students

As per the instructions of Sitarganj National and State Legal Services Authority and orders of District Legal Services Authority, Udham Singh Nagar, a special legal awareness and legal literacy camp was organized by the Tehsil Legal Services Committee on Wednesday in the auditorium of Greenwood Public School. In the camp, Civil Judge (J.D.) and Judicial Magistrate and Chairperson of Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Nandita Kala, informed the students about various legal provisions and their rights.

Judicial Magistrate Nandita Kala explained to the students in detail about the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO), Right to Education Act (RTE) and the functioning of Lok Adalat. He said that law plays an important role in protecting the safety, education and rights of children. He inspired the students to be aware of their rights and seek help through appropriate channels if any kind of problem arises.

During the camp, Nandita Kala interacted directly with the students and asked various questions related to law. Students answered the questions with enthusiasm and confidence. Through interactive sessions, students were given information about legal provisions along with practical examples, which helped them understand the law better.

Tehsil Legal Services Committee's panel advocate Vishwajit Roy and advocate Manorama Gupta also gave important information to the students and teachers. Vishwajeet Roy spoke about child rights, child protection and legal aid available. Manorama Gupta gave information about the increasing side effects of drugs, measures to prevent cyber crime and online fraud. He sensitized the students not to share personal information with unknown people, not to click on suspicious links and to exercise caution during online transactions. Also informed about the process of quick and easy settlement of disputes through Lok Adalat.

School Principal Dr. Puneet Goyal expressed his gratitude while welcoming the chief guest and the judicial team. He said that by organizing such legal awareness programs among the students, they develop understanding about their rights, duties and security. He said that legal information provides children with confidence to take appropriate steps in any adverse situation.

Para legal volunteers Manoj Kumar, Neetu, Vineeta Dhami, Riya Gangwar, Rupa Jatav, Kripa Jatav, Nirmal Bhatt, Baljinder Kaur and Jeevan Singh Bora actively cooperated in the successful organization of the camp. Apart from the students of the school, teachers and staff were present in the program.
