Gandhi Jayanti campaign and legal literacy camp organized in Vimla Intermediate College

As per the instructions of Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Lucknow and as per the orders of District Judge/Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Sonbhadra, under the special campaign and legal awareness program being run on the occasion of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti, a one-day legal literacy and awareness camp was organized at Vimla Intermediate College, Tagore Nagar, Robertsganj on 01 October 2026. The program was inaugurated by District Legal Services Authority Secretary Rahul, Civil Judge CD/Secretary (full time) by garlanding the portraits of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and lighting lamps.

Addressing the camp, Secretary Rahul inspired the students to adopt Mahatma Gandhi's ideas of truth, non-violence and self-reliance in their lives. He said that cleanliness is not limited only to cleanliness of surroundings, but purity of thoughts and conduct is also necessary. In the legal awareness session, while giving detailed information about POCSO Act-2012 and child rights, he said that all boys and girls below the age of 18 years have been provided protection under this Act. He made the students aware about Good Touch and Bad Touch and inspired them to protest without fear in case of any untoward incident or unsafe situation and to immediately inform their parents and teachers.

Also informed about the mandatory reporting provision regarding giving information about crimes against children to the police or child protection unit. Describing the schemes of NALSA, he also gave information about toll-free helpline number 15100 and child helpline number 1098 for free legal aid.

At the end of the program the camp concluded with a vote of thanks. On this occasion, School Principal Shiv Narayan Lal, Deputy Chief LADC. Satyarman Tripathi, Assistant LADC. Jai Prakash, Permanent Lok Adalat member Neeraj Singh, M.S.E.M.V.S. Rajan Kumar and Rajeev Kumar, Paralegal Volunteers (PLVs) Deepan Kumar and Bholanath, school teachers Nandlal Shukla and Manish Singh and other teachers, staff and about 82 students from the institution were present.
