Demand for resignation of CEC Gyanesh Kumar intensifies, Cockroach Janata Party will protest in Mumbai on October 2.

New Delhi: The political turmoil has intensified over the demand for resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Cockroach Janata Party (CIP) has announced a big demonstration in Mumbai on 2 October. The party says that their agitation will continue until Gyanesh Kumar resigns. Party co-founder Ashutosh Ranka said that when people's permission was not taken before removing names from the voter list, how could the government expect to seek permission for the demonstration. He clearly said that his protest is to save democratic rights.

Demonstration in Shivaji Park, police did not give permission

CIP has announced a demonstration at Shivaji Park in Dadar, Mumbai. Party founder Abhijeet Deepke has also reiterated the demand for resignation of CEC. He said that this movement will not be limited to Mumbai only, but will also be taken to other parts of the country. However, Mumbai Police has refused permission for the demonstration in Shivaji Park. For this, the police have cited the old order of the High Court and the rules applicable regarding meetings in Shivaji Park.

'Put you in jail for three months, the movement will not stop'

Abhijeet Deepke has given a strict warning to the government. He said that even if the government puts him in jail not for three days but for three months, his protest will not stop. In fact, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had said that if you protest without permission, you will not get bail for three days. In response to this statement, Deepke made this challenge.

It is noteworthy that earlier on September 24, CIP had given an ultimatum to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign within 48 hours. The party had warned that if the resignation was not given, there would be agitation across the country.

Abhijeet Deepke's allegation

Abhijeet Deepke had alleged that names of more than 13 crore voters in the country are being deleted through SIR. He said that the right to vote is being taken away from the people. Deepke says that democracy means that people elect their government, but ever since Gyanesh Kumar became CEC, the government is deciding who will vote and who will not.
