Liam Payne’s cousin shares regret about his last days

Liam Payne’s cousin Ross Harris has opened up about the singer’s final hours.

The One Direction star passed away at the age of 31 on Octber 16, 2024, after falling from the third-floor balcony of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain on Thursday while promoting his new song, Bones, Ross reflected on the cousin’s final moments and the complicated relationship the singer had with fame.

“He had everything and nothing at the same time,” Harris said of his cousin’s experience with worldwide stardom.

The singer then revealed that Liam had called him on the day he died.

“He called me, I guess the afternoon our time. I was in a session with Jordan Rams, who I wrote the song with,” he explained.

Ross said his phone was down at the time, meaning he did not see the call immediately.

“I think my phone was down so I missed it and saw it a few hours later and thought, I will call him back,” he recalled.

By the time Ross returned the call, however, it was too late.

Despite finding some peace in that thought, Ross said missing the call remains something he will always regret.
