Lisa turns heads in sheer red gown at 2026 MTV Video Music Awards

The awards ceremony was held at the Peacock Theater on Sept. 27, with celebrities arriving on the event’s signature blue carpet.

The 29-year-old singer wore a custom sheer red dress by The Attico, paired with a plush outer layer by Quine Li. She completed the look with her hair pulled into a sleek high ponytail.

The appearance marked Lisa’s return to the VMAs after making her debut at the awards ceremony in 2024. Other stars attending this year’s event included Taylor Swift, Teyana Taylor, Charli XCX and Tyla.

In a breakdown of the evening’s award contenders published by ElleLisa entered the ceremony with four solo nominations for her song “Dream”: Best Pop, Best K-pop, Best Cinematography and Best Editing. Blackpink also received two nominations, including Best Group and Best K-pop for the group’s song “Jump.”

Lisa’s VMAs appearance came just weeks after she attended the Toronto International Film Festival for the premiere of her documentary “Always Lalisa.” At the Canadian event, she opted for a brown velvet skirt paired with a crop top that exposed her midriff.

Her busy solo schedule follows Blackpink’s reunion after the four members spent time pursuing individual projects.

In an interview with ReutersLisa said working independently had helped each member develop greater confidence and a clearer artistic identity.

“I feel like we’ve gained a lot more confidence in ourselves. We were able to do our own stuff and find our own voice, so [now that] we’re back together, we bring good energy,” she said.

Lisa said the Blackpink members remained close even while focusing on their individual careers, regularly exchanging messages, speaking on the phone and meeting for Korean barbecue whenever their schedules allowed.

She acknowledged that working alone could sometimes feel lonely, but said the continued support of her bandmates helped her through those moments.
