LPG E-KYC Alert: Get e-KYC done by August 15, otherwise gas cylinder subsidy may be stopped.

Gas consumers must complete their e-KYC by August 15th, or else the subsidy on gas cylinders could be discontinued. Gas consumers can complete their e-KYC through the oil companies’ apps or by visiting their LPG distributor. After the 15th, consumers may have to purchase gas cylinders at a higher price. A 14.2 kg gas cylinder will cost ₹2,138 instead of ₹979.50.

There are approximately 1.2 million LPG cylinder consumers in the capital. On the instructions of oil companies, distributors are completing e-KYC for their customers. Currently, more than 300,000 consumers have not completed their e-KYC. These consumers may face problems after August 15th.

You can do e-KYC yourself sitting at home

You’ll need to download the app using your registered number on the oil companies’ apps. You’ll need to select the e-KYC update option. Face recognition will match the face of the person in whose name the connection is registered. A message will then appear stating that the e-KYC is complete. Hindustan Petroleum customers can complete their e-KYC from home using the HP Pay app, Bharat Gas customers can do so using the Hello BPCL app, and Indian Oil customers can do so using the Indian Oil One app.

LPG consumers can complete their e-KYC from home by visiting the oil companies’ app until the 15th. Alternatively, they can also visit their LPG distributor to complete their e-KYC. This process doesn’t take much time. After the 15th, oil companies may discontinue the gas cylinder subsidy for such consumers.
