Lucknow fire incident: Investigation will be done from fire safety to administrative negligence, CM Yogi set up SIT, asked for complete account in 7 days.
Lucknow: After the tragic fire incident in Aliganj area of Lucknow, the Uttar Pradesh government has come into full action mode. After the death of many people and injuries to a large number of people in the accident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has formed a two-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to thoroughly investigate the matter. The SIT has been instructed to submit its report to the government within seven days.
Chief Minister canceled all programs
As soon as the information about the fire was received, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath canceled his scheduled programs and immediately reached Lucknow. He inspected the incident site, took information about the relief and rescue operations and later reached KGMU to inquire about the well-being of the injured. The Chief Minister also met the families of the victims and assured them of all possible assistance.
Responsibility assigned to senior officers
Additional Chief Secretary of Tourism Department Amrit Abhijat and Additional Director General of Police of Lucknow Zone Praveen Kumar have been included in the SIT formed by the government. Both the officers have been entrusted with the responsibility of impartially investigating all the aspects related to the accident and identifying the people responsible.
There will be a thorough investigation on these points
The SIT will find out whether there were adequate fire fighting arrangements in the concerned building or not. Besides, it will also be investigated whether safety standards were followed in the building or not. Fire safety management, role of regulatory agencies, possible negligence of concerned departments and action of local administration have also been kept under scrutiny.
Apart from this, a detailed review will also be done on how quickly the relief and rescue operations started after the fire, what steps were taken to evacuate people and how the emergency services responded.
Accountability of officers will be fixed
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given clear indications that if negligence of any officer or department is revealed in the investigation, then strict action will be taken against him. The government says that no person responsible for the accident will be spared.
The truth will come out after a week
Now all eyes are on the SIT report. It is believed that on the basis of the investigation report, major action can be taken against many officers and responsible people. The government claims that after the report comes, strict action will be taken against the culprits so that such incidents are not repeated in future.
