What do we see in the Cupertino trailer?
The Cupertino trailer shows Michael and Olivia handling cases involving the technology industry. Olivia describes one case involving an AI drone that killed a man. She then reveals another case involving a chatbot that allegedly encouraged a child to kill his father.
The footage also shows the lawyers facing companies with far greater resources. One character warns Michael about the close relationship between major technology firms. He tells him, “Apple, Google, Facebook, Open AI — the Goliaths protect each other.”
Alongside the legal cases, the trailer introduces several members of Michael and Olivia’s team. Ella Stiller plays Christy Palladino, while Nik Dodani portrays Vikram Malhotra. Busy Philipps appears as Natalia Boutella, with Renée Elise Goldsberry playing opposing attorney Nichole E. Ferebee.
Goldsberry’s character has a previous connection with Michael. Their history adds a personal element to the professional conflicts. The trailer also features guest appearances from actors including Stephen Pasquale and Fisher Stevens.
The series also explores the personal and professional challenges facing Michael and Olivia. Their cases put them against opponents with significant influence and resources. This creates the David-versus-Goliath setup at the heart of the legal drama.
Mike Colter is best known for playing Luke Cage in Marvel’s television universe. He previously worked with the Kings on Evil.
Cupertino premieres Thursday, October 8, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. The series will also stream on Paramount+.
