From time to time, many such mysterious saints have appeared in the land of Indian spirituality, yoga practice and miracles, who have deeply influenced the direction of history and the politics of the country. One such highly revered and supernatural saint has been Devraha Baba, whom the country also knows as 'Machan Baba'. After the huge success of the recent successful film 'Hanuman Ansh', now a new and grand film based on the life and miracles of this mysterious and supernatural saint Devraha Baba in the Indian cinema world has been officially announced. On hearing the name of Devraha Baba, the image of an eternally young saint who used to sit on a high wooden platform on the banks of Yamuna river and relieve the sufferings of people just by his blessings, emerges in the minds of crores of people of the country. Baba's influence in the most powerful and influential political circles of Indian politics was such that from the country's then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi to many senior leaders, they used to stand in queues for hours under his loft to seek his blessings. Even today, those historical and mythological pictures related to the blessings of Devraha Baba on Indira Gandhi's hand are recorded in golden letters in the pages of the political history of the country.
Devraha Baba's life was no less than a puzzle. Till date no historian or scientist has been able to find the answer to how old he was, where and when he was actually born. Devotees and the saint community considered him immortal and believed that he had been performing penance on earth for centuries. He always resided on a wooden scaffold high above the ground, which earned him the fame as 'Machan wale Baba' or 'Machan Baba'. He used to bless every devotee who came to him without saying anything, just by lightly touching his head with his foot or hand and with that very touch, people's big troubles were cured. His mysterious life and his Yoga Siddhis have always been a subject of deep curiosity for researchers, scientists and spiritual lovers. Preparations are underway to bring his mysterious and spiritual journey alive on the big screen in this upcoming new film, which will give the audience a chance to come face to face with another untouched aspect of the Indian saint tradition.
The association between Devraha Baba and the country's former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi has been the most talked about in Indian political history. After the Emergency, when Indira Gandhi's political career was going through its most difficult phase and the Congress Party had to face a crushing defeat, Indira Gandhi left everything and went to visit Devraha Baba located in Mathuramay and Deoria region of Uttar Pradesh. When Baba placed his hand on the head of Indira Gandhi sitting under the scaffold and blessed her, the political developments that followed changed the atmosphere of the country. In the elections held after this, Indira Gandhi's party returned with a huge majority. This blessing of Baba started being considered as the 'key to power' in the political circles. Not only Indira Gandhi, but also Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Rajiv Gandhi, Charan Singh and many big politicians of India and abroad used to come to Baba's door to seek guidance and blessings. The filmmakers say that the historical scenes of this political and spiritual union will be shown on screen in a very exciting manner.
After the immense success of the film 'Hanuman Ansh', the producers have taken up the task of conveying the ancient and authentic saint tradition of India to the modern generation. In today's digital and hectic life, this is a great way to connect the new generation with our ancient history, yoga practice and the contribution of saints. The film will use VFX and state-of-the-art technology to depict Baba's miracles, the environment of his machan and the political scenario of that era in a very authentic manner. Film experts believe that just as films based on saints and religious subjects are getting unprecedented love from the audience these days, this film based on 'Machan Baba' will set new records at the box office and will take the audience on a deep and mysterious journey of spirituality.
